I am a 2005 graduate of Bowdon High School and was in the first ever 8th grade class at Jonesville Middle. I spent 14 years teaching high school Spanish of varying levels and organizing an international travel program for my students. I have focused on improving literacy and proficiency skills in students’ second language, and as a media specialist I get to do the same in their first language. I believe school and learning should be exciting and it’s up to us to create a place where students want to be. 

I graduated from The University of Georgia with my undergraduate degree and love any-and-everything UGA, but especially football. I have a wonderful husband, Lanny Smith, who is also involved in the Bowdon community and two children, Greyson and Emery Kate. We also have three beloved dogs, Daisy, and Kirby Smart, and Charlie. 

When I’m not at school, I love to travel the world, read, cook, decorate, and watch sports. I also love to be creative and make new things. Go Big Red!
